#46-21 Afghan Media and Women … media freedom and its setbacks

Ayubi gives a history of media rights in Afghanistan, the problem of losing reporters, her discussion with Taliban negotiators, and a plea to world media and civil society to help convince Taliban to let up on oppressing women. Part 1 was released last week in WINGS. (This can probably stand alone if need be.)

Host(s): Violet Gonda, and Frieda Werden
Featured Speakers/Guests: Najiba Ayubi is an executive of a major nonprofit media organization in Afghanistan and a longtime activist for peace and women’s rights. She is also President of the Afghanistan chapter of International Association of Women in Radio and TV.
