#35-22 Girls’ Future in Uganda … Rebuilding society is a tall order
Women in Uganda’s Parliament are passing new laws that aim to protect children and women, and improve conditions at home, school and work; however, implementation with limited funding is a problem. Some of the risks are from ingrained harmful traditions, but many are from the disintegration of family life and of the schools, made worse by covid. Rebuilding society once it falls apart is a tall order. Uganda’s efforts are being studied by other African countries. One important element is involving men in the campaign.
