#27-21 Feminist Foreign Policy … What it is and what it could be
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been lauded for her efforts at feminist foreign policy, but not until 2014 did a country – Sweden – give the name feminist to its own foreign policy. Now Mexico and Libya have declared they have feminist foreign policy, and Canada is putting its toe in that water. Three experts in the field of FFP give their opinions in this program. Hint: their ideas go well beyond what HRC would have dared.
Host(s): Sofia Vavaroutsos
Featured Speakers/Guests: Marissa Conway, co-founder and UK Director of the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy. Dr. Siham Rayale, Oxfam Canada’s women’s rights policy specialist. Dr Jennifer Thomson, lecturer in comparative politics, University of Bath.
