#33-21 UN Women New Executive Director … Sima Bahous of Jordan – plus an appearance by Melinda French Gates
UN Women’s 3rd Executive Director was appointed in September 2021, shortly after the Generation Equality conferences raised over $40 billion US dollars for the agency’s work. Program includes her presentation to the UN Security Council on Women, Peace and Security, plus a Day Against Violence Against Women greeting and a joint interview with philanthropist Melinda French Gates.

Featured Speakers/Guests: Sima Sami Bahous has a doctorate in communications and a lot of experience working for NGOs, UN organizations, foundations, government, and more. She is a strong advocate of spending more money on supporting women and less on the military. Melinda French Gates is co-founder of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which donated 2.1 billion to Generation Equality and helped shape its events and projects. She is a strong advocate for the utility of good data.
