#29-20 Women of India’s Panchayats … 50% of local government seats are now for women
In August 2020, the world lost broadcaster and author Indu Ramesh to the Covid pandemic. Among her achievements were many outstanding programs for WINGS. From 2011, here’s her coverage of village women in India embracing newly mandated roles in local government. Indu was then 74 years old. Working with her is her daughter, Aparna Devagiri.
