#22-21 Jeannette Armstrong – Leading by Giving … Indigenous gift economy in family, community, and environment

Jeannette Armstrong has been named to the Order of Canada in 2021. This program provides excerpts from her address to the International Conference on the Gift Economy in Las Vegas in 2004. Its themes include the essential nature of diversity in environment and in culture, and how communities are sustained by unilateral giving, deep listening, and genuine equality.

Featured Speakers/Guests: Jeannette Armstrong, PhD, is a founder of En’owkin, the Okanagan Nsyilxcn language and knowledge institution of higher learning of the Syilx Okanagan Nation. She holds a Canada Research Chair in Okanagan Indigenous Knowledge and Philosophy and is a revered author, educator, artist, and activist.
