As of 2025 and 2026, many of those departments are being closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But scholarship on women outside of academia is still alive and growing. Max Dashu began researching this field on her own. She has created, analyzed and promoted The Suppressed Histories Archive &#8211; a gigantic, well-organized collection of images, stories and information on&nbsp;pre-history&nbsp;and history of women around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interview by Meghan Murphy.
