Now she owns a hotel.\u00a0She tells WINGS Kenya correspondent Diana Wanyonyi\u00a0how she and other women who entere the taxi business in Mombasa shrugged off male drivers&#8217; interference; how she used her contacts from ships in the port to learn multiple languages; how she was stowed away on a ship and learned to crew, while keeping her new occupation from her parents; and how she used her seafaring earnings to open first a pub in Mombasa and then the Jawambe Hotel.
