Laila Ndagire

Laila Ndagire is a Ugandan journalist, a senior producer and broadcaster. Her focus is on Development Communication mainly Human Rights especially rights of women, Health, Environment and Entertainment. Laila joined Uganda Media Women’s Association and Mama Fm; a Women focused Community Radio in 2009. She is an anchor, produces the radios’ monthly series on topical issues and presents the daily Evening Drive Show. She runs the organization/radio online sites – Facebook, Twitter and the website Laila holds a Diploma in journalism and mass communication from United Media Consultants and Trainers, UMCAT, a Certificate in Radio Production Skills by the Free Press Unlimited -Netherlands, and currently pursuing a Bachelor in Development Studies at Kampala International University, Uganda.

Laila has garnered experience through coverage of the United Nations Conference of Parties on Climate Change, COP22 in Marrakesh, Morocco under a media agency that broadcasted news in 18 countries worldwide where her own production on farming, featured in BarzaWire- Farm Radio International. Live interviews with people of high profile like Ms Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director General; Ambassador Dessima Williams, Special Advisor to the President of the UN General Assembly for Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, and Ms Lakshmi Puri, Deputy Executive Director, UN-Women, was also broadcast by the Women’s International News Gathering Service.
