Laila Ndagire is a Ugandan journalist, a senior producer and broadcaster. Her focus is on Development Communication mainly Human Rights especially rights of women, Health, Environment and Entertainment. Laila joined Uganda Media Women’s Association and Mama Fm; a Women focused Community Radio in 2009. She is an anchor, produces the radios’ monthly series on topical issues and presents the daily Evening Drive Show. She runs the organization/radio online sites – Facebook, Twitter and the website www.umwamamafm.co.ug. Laila holds a Diploma in journalism and mass communication from United Media Consultants and Trainers, UMCAT, a Certificate in Radio Production Skills by the Free Press Unlimited -Netherlands, and currently pursuing a Bachelor in Development Studies at Kampala International University, Uganda.
Laila has garnered experience through coverage of the United Nations Conference of Parties on Climate Change, COP22 in Marrakesh, Morocco under climateradio.net/en/ a media agency that broadcasted news in 18 countries worldwide where her own production on farming, featured in BarzaWire- Farm Radio International. Live interviews with people of high profile like Ms Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director General; Ambassador Dessima Williams, Special Advisor to the President of the UN General Assembly for Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, and Ms Lakshmi Puri, Deputy Executive Director, UN-Women, was also broadcast by the Women’s International News Gathering Service.
