Labor unions are starting to gain more recognition internationally as a legitimate element of a functioning economy. To be effective for their members, they must also be democratic. In this interview from 1996, the year a movie on her life was released, Kilmury explains the internal struggle for democracy in the Teamsters, and what a union can negotiate for its members, including women, in a capitalist world.
